The surroundings of is a true hiking paradise. From the campsite you can easily reach different natural areas where peace, space and variety are central. Each area has its own character and invites you to explore — alone, together or with the whole family.
The Reestdal is known for its small-scale landscape with winding paths, wooded banks and streams. Here you walk through a peaceful and almost timeless setting. The Holtingerveld surprises with vast heaths, forests and open plains, where you will also encounter impressive hunebedden along the way — silent witnesses to thousands of years of history. The National Park Dwingelderveld, Europe's largest contiguous wet heathland area, invites long walks with sweeping vistas.
The wetlands around Giethoorn and the Weerribben is easily accessible. Here you walk past reed beds, ditches and bridges, with plenty of opportunities to spot birds and enjoy the peace.
The hiking trails varyëren from short detours to longer treks, providing something for every walking pace and age. In every season, the landscape shows itself from a different side: fresh green in spring, warm and colorful in summer, tranquil in autumn and serene in winter.
After a day outdoors, it is wonderful to come home to the campsite. Hiking from The Hazenpad means enjoying nature, silence and the space to recharge completely.
